Oh I wish it could be Christmas everyday.

Hello lovely people! I hope that everyone is enjoying the run up to Christmas. Holiday plans and preparations are in full swing on this side of the pond. Yesterday Owen and I joined some friends for a festive soiree. We took in some Stewart Lee standup in Leicester Square. Then exchanged Secret Santa gifts at a nearby pub. A magical evening.

We also FINALLY had some snow the other day. Big, luscious flakes too. But it was too warm for them to stick. The above photo was taken a couple of years ago during my first visit to England. Hopefully we'll see some of that landscape before the end of the winter.

After posting some of my favourite Christmas music the other day, it occurred to me that some of you may not be aware that there is a completely different set of classic holiday tunes that dominate the English radios every December. After a year here (not too mention three weeks working in a card and gift shop with holiday music playing) I've become quite familiar with these songs. But for those of you who have yet to experience them, here are some of the Xmas classics favoured by the Brits:

Please check out this dude's teeth...

Also, there's a hilarious YouTube video of karaoke to this song gone seriously wrong. Check it out here [So, the video was randomly made private sometime between yesterday and today.... If you got to see it, good for you. If not, sorry you missed out.] EDIT #2: Found a new copy of it!!!

Honestly, the outfits in these things are just amazing.

One-man ugly sweater party! Good thing he can dance.

And of course - a children's classic. It really is beautiful and so hypnotic.

And if you'd like to hear a dubstep remix of Walking in the Air - please click here. If you don't go for the dubstep, go for the ridiculous comments below the video. It's worth it.

Perhaps you have heard some of these songs or maybe you haven't. Either way I hope that you've enjoyed them and that they will succeed in bringing us all a little closer this holiday season.

And now to end with a little internet sensation treat - Benton the dog goes to Middle Earth:

Love.
